We're happy to welcome eight new Leaders in Teaching and Learning this fall. This program develops faculty leaders to foster effective teaching in disciplinary units across campus through professional development, action plans, and mentorship. This year's cohort includes Alpa Gautam, Amit Jariwala, Carrie Bruce, Joshua Palkki, Katherine Samford, Kemal Budak, Liana Boop, and Pamela Pollet.

Community of Practice on College Teaching with the UN SDGs

Nov. 7, 12-1:15 p.m., virtual via Zoom

Join this multi-institutional community of practice on teaching with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)! Faculty at the University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, and Auburn University will share examples from diverse disciplines that illustrate how to enhance teaching and learning by using the SDGs as a framework for real-world problem-solving.

Teaching with Technology Roundtable: Exploring Generative AI to Support UDL

Nov. 13, 10-11 a.m., Clough 466A or Zoom

We'll discuss how Generative AI tools can support Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles in higher education. Whether you're new to UDL or experimenting with AI in your teaching, this collaborative conversation will offer ideas for enhancing access, representation, motivation, and flexibility in your course.

New Departmental Teaching Award

Deadline to submit is Nov. 3

CTL and the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning are seeking nominating portfolios from schools, departments, and programs across campus for Georgia Tech’s inaugural Excellence in High-Impact Practices and Experiential Learning Departmental Award. This award recognizes programs that demonstrate excellence in implementing high-impact practices to enhance student learning, engagement, and success.

Web Accessibility

Federal revisions to Title II state that all public entities must ensure their web content and mobile applications are accessible by April 26, 2026. For Georgia Tech instructors, this means all Canvas sites, course files, and media must meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA. CTL's Lauren Barbeau shares five tips to help you create web accessible courses that better support all students.
