Enjoy the RV Life!
Show of hands: How many of you made a list of resolutions for the new year? Second question: How many of you are still following them? No judgment here. Regardless, we hope you have travel plans for 2025. (We hear your RV calling!)
The Mile Marker staff has compiled some info to help make your journeys more memorable. Among the topics: winter road trip destinations, RV shows, spiffing up your rolling home, staying connected with Family RV Association, tips about the association’s Pathfinder membership for your would-be-RVing friends, and more.

Stay Connected With Family RV Association
The best way to build relationships within our extended RV family is to attend a Family RV Association convention or rally. But how can you stay in touch between events? Let us count the ways!
Social media. Family RV Association maintains a presence on all the major social media channels. Follow us on our Facebook page, Facebook group, Instagram, X, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
Forums. FRVA/FMCA has an active online community where members discuss myriad topics related to RV life, and where folks can go to seek the advice of their fellow adventurers. Topics include technical talk, as well as discussions about travel-related and lifestyle subjects.
Websites. We encourage you to explore the association’s websites. Learn more about member benefits and services and manage your member account at FMCA.com. (Note that this site will be transitioning to FRVA.com and FamilyRVAssociation.com early this year.) For easy access to current and past articles from the magazine, visit FamilyRVingmag.com.
E-newsletters. Stay informed about Family RV Association benefits, events, and more via this monthly Mile Marker. For RV enthusiasts who can’t get enough technical info, there’s the quarterly Tech Talk e-newsletter.
RV travelers share tips, tricks, and destination ideas at FMCAdventure.com.

Fight Fire at the Source
THIA devices are fully automatic and self-contained fire detection and suppression devices that are custom-installed directly in high-fire risk areas of RVs — including small electrical areas. Most RV fires start with an electrical malfunction. An ideal solution for protection against fire is to have a system that is as close as possible to where a fire can start. FMCA members are eligible for package pricing and discounts of up to 10% on THIA systems and services. Click here to learn more, place an order, or schedule your custom installation — wherever you are. We will come to you!

It's Show Season!
The new year kicks off with great events for RV enthusiasts across North America. If you’re looking for a new or new-to-you home on wheels, check out an RV show. Besides displaying the latest RVs, they’re great hunting grounds for related equipment and supplies you didn’t even know you needed! Two biggies are the Florida RV SuperShow, January 15-19, in Tampa, and the Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show, January 18-26, in Quartzsite, Arizona. Family RV Association will have a booth at both; come see us! And don’t forget our own 110th International Convention and RV Expo, March 12-15, in Perry, Georgia.
To find local events, search online for “RV shows near me,” or check this list.

Soup Up That RV!
Remodel, revamp, redecorate! RVInspiration.com offers a load of inexpensive tips — 99, to be exact — to spruce up your rolling home. For example: Freshen drawer pulls with a coat of spray paint. Add a galley countertop extension. Create an accent wall using paintable faux-brick panels. Install a slat-wall panel in a storage bay; attach shelves, hooks, etc. to its horizontal slats to organize items.

Winter Festival Fun!
Whether you’re hanging out in a warm-weather destination this season or looking to enjoy a cold-weather RV adventure, one activity to consider is attending a festival. These celebrations take place year-round, and many of them are RV friendly. The folks at Outdoorsy.com have compiled a list of The Best RV-Friendly Winter Festivals in the U.S. Their suggestions range from frosty fun at the International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge, Colorado, in late January to sunny delights at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Miami Beach, Florida, near the end of February.
Canada gets in on the action as well, with events such as the Quebec Winter Carnival from late January to mid-February and Winterlude in Ottawa starting on January 31 this year. An internet search should turn up even more possibilities for wintertime delights!
