Janice’s last day serving as Tennessee Christian Job Corps (CJC) state coordinator was August 31. We appreciate her outstanding work over the past eight years and how she has worked to transition well. We love you, Janice, and are grateful for the many lives you have impacted through the ministry of Christian Job Corps. Thank you, Janice!

We are pleased to announce that Becky Sumrall is the new Tennessee CJC state coordinator.. Becky is no stranger to the CJC minister as the former executive director of Begin Anew of Middle Tennessee and recently serving on the TN CJC state advisory board. Tennessee CJC, a ministry of Tennessee WMU, seeks to provide a Christian environment in which women and men are equipped and encouraged for new life in Jesus and where they gain job and life skills to enhance their lives and the lives of their families. We have 19 CJC sites across Tennessee from Bartlett to Morristown. In 2022, these sites reported 1,504 participants in their various programs and 315 volunteers serving 10,325 volunteer hours. Great Commission Conversations: Denver 
September 20, 2023
11:00-11:30 AM CST

Join us on September 20th at 11:00 am central time for a Great Commission Conversation as we hear from Denver Church RePlanter, Johnny Upchurch, One Hope Church, and then pray for him, his family, and his ministry.

The conversation via video conference will last approximately 30 minutes. You can stay the whole time or come in and out of the meeting as needed. After the live video conference meeting, a recorded version of the meeting will be placed online for others to view.

Women’s Off the Grid Hiking Trip for Missions & Ministry Leaders

September 29-30, 2023
Carson Springs Baptist Conference Center 
Cost: $85 - includes one night lodging, three meals, and transportation to and from trails. 

Come experience two days of beautiful scenery in the Great Smoky Mountains and good fellowship with other women who share your passion for missions and ministry.

Hike the 5-mile Elkmont Nature Trail to Cool Troll Bridge on day one. Explore the ruins of the 1900s Elkmont town and then return to Carson Springs to enjoy s'mores and stories by the fire. 

Hike the 7-mile round-trip from the Metcalf Bottoms Picnic area to Little Brier Gap Trail on day two. 

Both hikes are on moderate hiking trails so participants should be in good physical condition and able to navigate rocks, stream crossings and moderate incline.

RA Camp-O-Ree 2023

Registration opens today, September 1, 2023, for RA Camp-O-Ree at Linden Valley Baptist Conference Center. Royal Ambassadors and Challengers, boys grades 1-12, attending RAC will participate in a multitude of activities, challenges, games, and crafts while enjoying the great outdoors. They meet missionaries from around the world and enjoy two action-packed worship services all in one weekend!

Tennessee WMU 135th

Birthday Celebration


Join us on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm central at the Missions Mobilization Center in Mt. Juliet to celebrate 135 years of Tennessee WMU! 

There will be a variety of activities throughout the building so you can come and go at a time convenient to you during the four-hour block of time.

Activities will include:

  • Tours of the Missions Mobilization Center and WMU Missionary House.
  • Connecting with IMB missionaries, state ministry representatives, and current Tennessee WMU leaders.
  • Kid-friendly and fun hands-on missions activities.
  • Opportunities to “visit” with the Goldens and other historical figures.
  • Interactive areas celebrating Tennessee WMU's impact through GAs, RAs, camps, Christian Job Corps, endowments, scholarships, etc. 
  • Photos and videos highlighting your Tennessee WMU local groups/Associations/WMU heroes.

  • Tennessee WMU is partnering with Baptist Collegiate Ministries to collect snack foods to help reach students. Click here for more information on locating and contacting your local BCM.
  • Tennessee Baptists are challenged to provide 7,000 backpacks for children living in poverty regions in Tennessee. Churches and associations will partner with ministries in these regions to impact the lives of children and their families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For more information and resources, click here.
  • Project HELP is an initiative of WMU that identifies a critical issue, seeks to raise awareness of that issue, and then provide practical approaches anyone can implement to meet needs and share the gospel. During 2022-24, the Project HELP critical issue is mental health. WMU provides multiple avenues for churches to raise awareness and equip members to lead and champion mental health initiatives in the church and in local communities.
