Registration opens today for the 2025 McGinnis Venture Competition, a platform exclusively for Carnegie Mellon University's community of student entrepreneurs. This competition brings together Carnegie Mellon's best and brightest student entrepreneurs to compete for $60K in investments. All participants receive crucial interaction with alumni entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, an opportunity to raise capital and valuable feedback about ventures.

Ready to create a company that makes an impact on the world's biggest challenges? The Swartz Center Social Enterprise Prize is a new competition at Carnegie Mellon University designed to empower students to develop entrepreneurial solutions for social and environmental challenges.

Gather AI Expands Into Cold Storage and Freezer Locations
Gather AI, co-founded by Carnegie Mellon University alumni Sankalp Arora, Daniel Maturana and Geetesh Dubey, has developed a drone solution that now encompasses the cold chain. The company says it has the first inventory management automation setup using drones for inventory monitoring automation.

| Honeycomb Credit Announces New Strategic Partnership with PCG Impact Fund
Honeycomb Credit recently announced a new strategic partnership with PCG Impact Fund, a leading investment firm dedicated to driving social and economic growth in the Pittsburgh region. As part of this collaboration, PCG Impact Fund has committed $250K as an institutional impact investor on the Honeycomb Credit platform, strengthening a shared mission of empowering small businesses and fostering community growth.
Honeycomb credit is co-founded by George Cook, CEO, Christian Bilger, Tepper School of Business alumnus and COO, and Ken Martin.

| Glen Wise, Co-Founder and CEO at Cinder, Shares His Journey with the Current Swartz Fellows and Innovation Scholars
Last Friday, Glen Wise, co-founder and CEO at Cinder, spoke about his journey after graduating Carnegie Mellon University in 2018 with the current cohort of James R. Swartz Entrepreneurial Fellows and Innovation Scholars during their weekly Proseminar in Entrepreneurial Leadership class. Cinder centralizes a company's data to better protect users.
Glen, also an Innovation Scholars alumnus, shared valuable advice for choosing the right team, the importance of working on something you're passionate about, the value of equity conversations and more during the one hour virtual session.
Cinder was included in Will Reed’s Top 100 this year—the second time for the recognition—and recently received $14M in funding from Accel, Y Combinator, and J2 Ventures.

Matt specializes in representing technology startups and emerging growth companies, assisting with entity formation, fundraising and overall growth needs. Startup companies with a founder who is a CMU graduate, undergraduate or alumni is eligible to register for an appointment.
