Teaching Tips: Yuja Panorama, A New Integrated Accessibility Check/Review Tool |
|
|
After a long and thorough evaluation process, the University of Michigan has chosen and integrated Yuja Panorama, a new accessibility check/review tool, into the Canvas LMS. This tool automatically identifies both major and minor accessibility issues that do not meet required accessibility standards.

Watch the asynchronous video titled Accessibility - Yuja Panorama recorded by Chris Casey, at Office of Digital Education, for an overview. This quick, easy-to-follow video will guide you through using the new tool to easily identify and address accessibility issues in your Canvas course—making it simple and straightforward to ensure your content is accessible for all students.
- In the near future, the vendor will offer live, interactive training sessions to help you explore the tool’s features. These sessions will give you the chance to ask questions directly to the vendor and gain a deeper understanding of how to make the most of Yuja Panorama.

Why Accessibility Matters?
|
-
In April 2024, the Department of Justice signed a final rule under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to guarantee that digital content and mobile applications are usable and inclusive for individuals with disabilities.
-
Accessibility is not just about compliance, it’s also about providing a fair chance for all students to succeed. By focusing on accessibility, we’re enhancing the learning experience for everyone at U-M Dearborn!
