Come see the five-time defending PSAC Champion IUP Women’s Tennis Team in their season-opening invitational on Saturday, September 6, and Sunday, September 7. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. at the 📍Maple Street Courts and will feature players from different schools around the region. Talons Up!

Are you interested in dance? Consider trying out for the Obsidian Dance Troupe! Auditions will take place on Monday, September 8, and Wednesday, September 10, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the 📍 Elkin Hall Dance Studio. The audition will consist of learning two 30-second dances (one hip-hop routine and one jazz routine). If you have dance shoes (e.g., tap shoes, turning shoes), please bring them along. Interested students only need to audition on one of the two audition days.Â

Did you know that thrifting is one of the most sustainable ways to get new clothes? Join the Students for Sustainability on Thursday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. for a trip to Goodwill. Interested students can meet at 📍 Kopchick Hall,103, for transportation provided by the group’s officers.

The IUP community is invited to this annual event on Wednesday, September 10, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the 📍HUB, Ohio Room. Join the many vendors who will offer health and nutrition education, free chair massages, spinal screenings, free food samples, self-defense sessions, and so much more. Student participation is encouraged; students who present their I-Cards will receive special discounts!

IUP will test its Emergency Notification System on Friday, September 12, at 10:00 a.m. The test will include text messaging, voice calls, email, and desktop alerts.
The email will go to everyone in the @iup.edu email system and will include information on how to sign up or verify information on IUP’s emergency notification system. This system is reserved for critical safety and security messages, including weather emergencies. Step-by-step instructions to update information or to register are available on the Emergency Notification System page. This page also provides information on registering for the free Everbridge app on a mobile device.

To make a great first impression, be authentic, confident, and attentive. Maintain good eye contact, stand/sit tall, listen, and don’t forget to smile. Show interest in others, ask thoughtful questions, and stay positive. These things will help to ensure you make a great impression when meeting someone for the first time!
Make a great first impression while networking at our My Cool Career events this fall. Our first event is on September 25 from 11:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the 📍North Dining Tower Room, where IUP alumni and friends will talk about life after IUP and their career success thus far. Free meal vouchers will be provided for up to 30 students.

In recognition of the twenty-fourth anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001, the IUP community will reflect on that fateful day and how it changed our world. All are encouraged to gather on Thursday, September 11, from 11:10 a.m. until noon at the 📍9/11 Memorial in the Oak Grove.
