It's Donor Appreciation Month!

A Record Year for
Share the Joy

The numbers are in! CCFCS’ Share the Joy program made the holidays brighter for more clients than ever. Our donors:
  • selected 753 wishlists supporting 1088 adults and 885 children
  • provided hundreds of gift cards for groceries
  • purchased toys and gifts for an additional 430 clients and their families using our Amazon Wish List
Overall, Share the Joy supported over 2400 clients - a record number and one that wouldn’t have been possible without our generous community. Thank you!
Homeless Outreach

Homeless Outreach

CCFCS is one of 10 local non-profit and government agencies partnering with the Rochester Police Department to meet the homeless where they are. Every week, the Homeless Outreach Team walks through city neighborhoods to offer support to homeless individuals in need. The effort is part of the City of Rochester’s pilot program to connect individuals on the streets to resources for food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, and other services. Included in the team photo is CCFCS’ Brandon Grantham, Director of Housing Services.

Afghan Adjustment Act

CCFCS has issued a statement in support of the Afghan Adjustment Act, which would grant permanent lawful resident status to our Afghan allies. CCFCS and community-based partners in Rochester have helped resettle more than 856 Afghan refugees since 2001, including more than 448 since the U.S. withdrawal from Kabul in 2021. YouthBuild

Great news for our award-winning YouthBuild program! Over the next three years, Flower City Habitat for Humanity is guaranteeing 15 construction jobs for students who complete the YouthBuild cohort. YouthBuild is now signing up students for the next cohort, which begins in March.

Bishop Emeritus Matthew H. Clark

On the passing of Bishop Emeritus Matthew Clark, we reflect on the leadership he brought to advancing the work of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester and in particular, the largest division of Catholic Charities, Family and Community Services (CCFCS). Bishop Clark’s calls to action laid the foundation for our very first residential home for individuals with developmental disabilities in Lyons, NY in 1980, and our award-winning programs for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Bishop Clark passed away January 22 at the age of 85. He was laid to rest January 30 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Workforce Investment

Effective January 2023, our base wage is now $17.25 for all Direct Care and Direct Support professionals at all CCFCS residential sites. To learn more about our open positions, check out our career page at https://fcscharities.org/careers
