I hope you've enjoyed our monthly counselor newsletters this fall and that you're finding them to be useful as you work with your students. We've enjoyed keeping you up to date with what's happening in The University of Tulsa's Office of Admission and our greater Tulsa community.
Congratulations on making it through the busy college application season! As you wrap up the fall term and prepare for the winter holidays, I hope you'll take time for yourself to relax and unwind in whatever capacity suits you best. Happy holidays!

| Early Action I decisions by Dec. 15
Members of The University of Tulsa Admission Officer Team have been busy reviewing application for admission files this fall. We are excited to release EAI decisions by Dec. 15! Secondary school counselors can use slate.org, a totally free platform, to view their students' decisions. (You're only able to see the TU admission decisions once students have seen the decisions for themselves in Hurricane Tracker, TU's applicant portal.) You can even upload materials for your students here, too.

FAFSA scheduled to open this month
The much-anticipated redesigned FAFSA is scheduled to open this month for the 2024-25 school year. This FAFSA is said to offer a streamlined user experience as well as expand eligibility for federal student aid. If your students and their parents have not yet created an FSA ID, they should do so now as they'll need it to apply for, receive, and manage federal student aid. While filing a FAFSA isn't required for prospective TU students, it is recommended. TU's School Code is 003185. Questions? Contact your TU admission counselor.

Interested students must apply to TU's Honors College by Feb. 1 using their same login credentials for Hurricane Tracker (TU's applicant portal). From the signature bonfire and TU on Tap on Friday night to the tailgate and football game on Saturday, it was a weekend to come together and celebrate what makes the TU community so special! Check out this 45-second recap video capturing the energy of the weekend's festivities!

| Lights on for the holiday season
On Dec. 1 we “flipped the switch” and illuminated the TU campus with one million blue and white lights to celebrate the holiday season! The totally free, open-to-the-public, annual TU tradition included seasonal music and carolers, arts and crafts, s'mores, snacks, cocoa and cider, a plush "Goldie" giveaway, a visit from Santa and Lights On TU shirts for TU students. The campus looks gorgeous year round, but it's especially pretty this time of year!
