GUILD HALL OPENS TODAY

HIFF returns to Guild Hall this morning, starting at 11am with AMRUM, and screenings run through our Closing Night Film on Sunday.

Today's screenings include three Spotlight films, sponsored by Audi:

PROGRAMMERS' PICKS

"In ALL THE EMPTY ROOMS, beloved reporter Steve Hartman (On the Road, CBS News) joins award-winning director Joshua Seftel in person for a heart-wrenching and thought-provoking film that pairs beautifully with Eden Wurmfeld’s masterful and hopeful CLASSROOM 4. Together these two films create an impact that lasts long after you leave the theatre."

 —Anna Lawrence, Programmer

TODAY, 10/10 | 2:45pm | East Hampton Regal UA

Steve Hartman (CBS News), Joshua Seftel and Eden Wurmfeld in Q&A

"This breakout hit from Sundance is like nothing you've ever seen before. Composed almost entirely of body-cam footage, this examination of a shooting in Florida examines both racial bias and the controversial 'stand your ground laws' that are a part of our judicial system."

—David Nugent, Chief Creative Officer

TODAY, 10/10 | 5:15pm | East Hampton Regal UA
Saturday, 10/11 | 11:00am | Southampton Playhouse

A Q&A with filmmaker Geeta Gandbhir will follow both screenings

"Josh O'Connor (CHALLENGERS), Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus), and Amy Madigan (WEAPONS) star in this quietly beautiful story of family, loss, and finding an unexpected community, all set against the stunning backdrop of the wide open American West."

—Kristin McCracken, Programmer

Today, 10/10 | 4:30pm | Guild Hall

Saturday, 10/11 | 6:00pm | East Hampton Regal UA
A Q&A with writer/director Max Walker-Silverman will follow both screenings.

ENCORE SCREENINGS ADDED ON MONDAY

BLUE MOON was a huge hit at HIFF33, so we're happy to announce an encore:

Monday, 10/13 | 2:15pm | East Hampton Regal UA

Since the 4:15 screening on Monday is on rush, we've added a second screening:

Monday, 10/13 | 4:45pm | East Hampton Regal UA

A Q&A with actress Christine Ebersole will follow the screening.

SOUTHAMPTON OPENING NIGHT

Our Opening Night at Southampton Playhouse was a hit, and then we toasted our new partnership at Wölffer Estate Vineyard! See you at the movies...

ON DECK SATURDAY

Documentary filmmakers have long been at the forefront of advocating for social change. As our media and social landscapes have evolved, so too have filmmakers’ methods for engaging with audiences. Filmmakers Joshua Seftel (ALL THE EMPTY ROOMS), Tony Benna (ANDRE IS AN IDIOT), Brandon Kramer (HOLDING LIAT), and Eden Wurmfeld (CLASSROOM 4) will join E2AC’s Nick Hudson to discuss their impact goals and strategies with documentary filmmaking.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Remember: To guarantee admission, all ticket and passholders must be present in line at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to every scheduled event start time.

Nothing is ever sold out! Don’t be discouraged if advance tickets are no longer available—while never guaranteed, Rush Lines are an excellent bet.
