More than 1,500 will graduate at ceremonies Friday for graduate students and Saturday for undergraduates. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and 1966 IUP graduate Ellen Ruddock, a local business leader, will receive honorary doctorates, with Shapiro speaking at the Saturday afternoon ceremony and Ruddock speaking at the Friday evening and Saturday morning ceremonies. Lorraine Guth, a professor of counseling known for advancing her profession internationally, has been selected as the 2024-25 Distinguished University Professor. In the next year, she will focus on several of her areas of interest and expertise, including group work, wellness, and multicultural and diversity issues in counseling.
