Caring for Our Unhoused Neighbors
Wellspring has been showing up in a big way for our unhoused neighbors in Georgetown. After spending time listening and learning about what people need most right now, the church jumped into action with a short donation drive—and the response was incredibly generous.
So many of you contributed essential items like backpacks, clothing, hygiene supplies, and more. In addition, financial gifts from Open Circle and the Mercy & Justice Team helped support and extend this effort, and some of our kids and youth assembled the bags.
One simple ongoing way to stay involved: every Friday, a hot meal potluck is prepared for about 15–25 people and served at St. Paul’s UMC (7th and MLK). If you’d like to help, you can bring a dish or just show up and serve—no sign-up needed.
This is what Wellspring looks like at its best: people showing up, pitching in, and caring for one another. Kindness matters—and it’s something this community continues to practice well.
