Dear Ones,
Here at the Fellowship, we know that there is enough for all of us — enough food, enough water, enough housing, enough safety. But the greed of some makes it seem like these basic needs are inherently scarce. We know that we can find abundance, but we will have to work together.
NEED HELP?
If you are one of the hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites who will have your November SNAP benefits withheld due to the government shutdown, we are here to make sure that you have enough. You can reach out to us (hannah@fvuuf.org or christina@fvuuf.org, or call the office at 920-731-0849) and let us know you could use financial help from our Minister’s Discretionary Fund. Your identity will be held in confidence by our ministers, and we won't ask intrusive questions. Our goal is to support you without hoops to jump through or weird shame associated with it.
CAN YOU GIVE?
If you are someone who is not wondering how you’ll afford groceries right now, please consider contributing to our Minister’s Discretionary Fund. Hunger and food insecurity exist right here among our Fellowship members and friends. So please, if you feel secure right now, give as you’re able online HERE or by writing a check payable to FVUUF with MDF in the memo line and mailing to the address below or putting it in the drop box or collection basket on Sunday. All of that money goes directly to people in need right here in our community.
Finally, and this might seem strange, but the person who writes the check to help a neighbor in need? The building we store the checks in? The stamps on the envelope to send it? The computer system we track it on? All of those things cost money. And when our neighbors are in need, our first priority is to get them the direct help they need. But these moments of widespread challenge also put pressure on the Fellowship’s own resources. If you are comfortable enough to give twice, please consider an extra donation to the Fellowship’s operating expenses to ensure that we are here not only for this moment, but also for the moments of need to come. You may make your extra gift online HERE or by writing a check payable to FVUUF with Operating in the memo line and mailing to the address below or putting it in the drop box or collection basket on Sunday.
Together, we will have enough.
Gratefully,
Rev. Hannah Roberts Villnave & Rev. Christina Leone-Tracy
