One would never guess that Thunderbird Whitney Gardner, a redshirt senior from Grantsville, Utah, was once a nervous child who nearly backed out of her very first game. "I actually cried when my mom signed me up for soccer for the first time," she says. Now, years later, with her name among the greatest to wear the Southern Utah University jersey, Whitney is preparing for her final season in Cedar City.
