Get Your Kicks in ’26 

Like the roads we drive, the new year stretches before us, full of promise and adventure. Need some RV resolutions to fill the months ahead? Try these for starters. 

Travel more. Embrace spontaneity. Explore new destinations, especially those on your bucket list. Organize your RV. Try a new hobby on the road, such as photography, quilting, or sketching. Commune with nature. Pick up pickleball or another sport. Experiment with campfire cooking. Find new games to play with camping friends. Discover weekend-warrior destinations not far from home. Plan a family reunion, RV resort-style. Attend a Family RV Association rally. Take in events that celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Explore Route 66 during its 100th anniversary year. 

Whatever you plan and wherever you go, we wish you the best in this new year.

Resolve to attend a Family RV Association international convention this year:  

Check out an FRVA area rally. The Western Area just concluded its rally in Indio, California. Next up is the Southeast Area Rally in Lakeland, Florida, February 4-7. See the 2026 schedule below. 

FRVA chapter rallies run year-round; often, they’re open to all Family RV Association members. If you’re thinking you’d like to join a chapter, try one of these gatherings.

Eating Along the Mother Road 

The Route 66 Cookbook by Linda Ly combines armchair travel with a traditional cookbook to celebrate 100 years of the United States’ most recognizable roadway. Featuring 66 recipes from the Midwest to the West Coast, Ly’s book honors road trip tradition. Explore new flavors, places, and perhaps future vacation destinations. The recipe collection encompasses a cultural smorgasbord, including Apple Strudel, featured at The Berghoff in Chicago, Illinois; the Elvis Ugly Crust Pie found at Midpoint Cafe in Adrian, Texas; and Spicy Seafood Soup served at The Albright in Santa Monica, California. The book also yields stories and facts from the route’s colorful history.
