Finals week is here! That also means that commencement is just a handful of days away for our graduating students. Commencement tickets are available for graduates at One Stop (UC 129) during business hours this week or on site at the Williams Center this Saturday. Congratulations to all on a fantastic year! We’re so glad you’re all Warhawks.

UW-Whitewater will celebrate the achievements of its graduates on Saturday, May 17, and Tuesday, May 20, as proud families and friends gather for the 2025 spring commencement ceremonies on the Whitewater and Rock County campuses.

Be recognized as a student org

Are you part of a recognized student organization or looking to start a new one? Complete the student org recognition process by this Thursday, May 15, to secure recognition for the 2025-26 academic year! Recognition includes access to tabling at involvement fairs, room reservations on campus, and more org resources.

HawkCard dining update

Weekly Meal Plans will end after the lunch meal period this Saturday, May 17. Graduating and departing students should use up their Purple Points, Dining Dollars, and meal swipes by that date. If you are graduating or departing and have $5 or more in Purple Points left on your card, you can request a refund online.

Three Warhawk teams NCAA bound this week

The UW-Whitewater baseball, golf, and softball teams hit the road this week for NCAA Championship tournament competition. Warhawk teams are set to compete in Michigan, Ohio, and Virginia at national championship events.

A total of 13 Warhawks earned 2025 University Writing Awards for writing in an academic course.

Warhawk teams claim trio of conference titles 

The UW-Whitewater men’s tennis, baseball, and softball teams each won Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships earlier this month. The baseball and softball teams begin play in their respective NCAA regional tournaments later this week.

Did you know that UW-Whitewater recently launched a Early Childhood Education Policy master’s program, addressing a critical need in the workforce? Lucinda Heimer, professor of curriculum and development and program coordinator for the MSE in Early Childhood Education Policy, along with graduate students Ashley O'Brien and Ashley Harrell, provided an overview of the asynchronous online graduate MSE in ECEP on the daily national Zoom hosted by the Boston-based Strategies for Children. Hired Before Graduation — May 2025 

A total of 217 students graduating this month participated in the university’s annual Hired Before Graduation campaign. Students who secured a job offer or promotion, started their own business, and/or earned acceptance to graduate school were invited to participate. Theatre majors Core Miller of Mount Pleasant and Michael Miller of Janesville were nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship for their stellar performances in "No Exit." The scholarship is awarded through the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Lighting designer Trevor Brilhart, a theatre major from Waterford, also received a Certificate of Merit for his "strong choices consistent with the emotional content of the moment." KCACTF »

Theatre major Ian Hughes of Ixonia secured a role in the Madison Shakespeare Company's production of "The Comedy of Errors." Performances will take place July 18-20 and July 25-27 at Madison Country Day School amphitheater. Performance Info »
