Hired Before Graduation begins today |
If you are graduating in two weeks and have landed a job or a promotion, earned admission to graduate school or started a company before commencement, join us Monday, Dec. 2, between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m., or Tuesday, Dec. 3, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Have your photo taken professionally and posted to our Hired Before Graduation social media campaign. No appointment is needed — we’ll see you there!

Book Buyback runs from Wednesday, Dec. 4, to Saturday, Dec. 14. Stop by during regular hours to sell your purchased books back. Bring in nonperishable food items to donate to the Warhawk Food Pantry and receive an extra $5 back ($1 per item, up to 5 items).

Students help UW-Whitewater place third at international sales competition
|
A total of 10 students from the UW-Whitewater teamed up to help the school place third at the Northeast Intercollegiate Sales Competition on Nov. 8-9 in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Kudos to Diana Shapiro, assistant professor of music, who was a featured clinician at the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association State Conference on Oct. 24-26 at Lawrence University in Appleton. Kudos to Jodi Simek, international education manager in the Center for Global Education, who represented UW-Whitewater at “Bridging the Cliff: Building Institutional Capacity to Grow International Education innovation Lab,” an event held by the American Council on Education (ACE) and Institute for International Education (IIE). The workshop was designed to facilitate the creation of institutionally based solutions that will help substantially increase the number of international students studying in the U.S. UW-Whitewater was one of 30 colleges/universities invited to participate due to its initiatives to increase international student enrollment.

Donation drives taking place through December 13
|

UW-Whitewater’s career services office, sustainability office and the Warhawk Pantry are collecting professional attire like blazers and dress pants for the Warhawk Success Closet and canned goods and household and personal care items for the Warhawk Pantry. Donation bins are located in academic buildings and residence halls throughout campus. All donations will support UW-Whitewater students.
