Important Arrival, Dismissal, Parking, and After School Walker Information for 2023-2024
Arrival, Dismissal, and Parking
With 800+ kids arriving at and leaving school each day, SVdP asks parents to carefully read and follow the information found in this email and attached links. Doing so will ensure not just smooth traffic flow but, most importantly, the safety and well-being of each of those 800+ kids.
Arrival: The document found via the link below includes a visual on how parents should enter and proceed through the parking lot to drop off children. School staff will be on duty to assist.
Dismissal: The document found via the link below also includes a visual detailing parking lot sectors and traffic flow for dismissal. Parents are asked to park facing north (toward the building); that way you can pull forward when leaving. DO NOT back up at dismissal time. All parents picking K-8 students up after school MUST park in the parking lot; DO NOT use the driveway. Again, school staff will be on duty to assist.
Parking Assignments: Parents are assigned to a parking lot sector for dismissal based on the direction they will likely go upon departure and the grade level of their children. Sector assignments for all families are included in document found via the link below. If nothing is indicated for your family or you question the information provided, contact Courtney Eden (edenc@svdpomaha.org).
Preschool Arrival and Dismissal: Parents of preschoolers will receive information from classroom teachers on arrival and dismissal traffic expectations.

After School Walkers
Our focus on safety extends to children who walk home or elsewhere after school. All walkers are supervised by school staff members prior to departure from school grounds.
The link found below will redirect to a form offering detailed information on walker safety rules and providing parents an opportunity to give permission for children to walk off school grounds after school on an everyday or occasional basis.
Please note that students will not be allowed to join east or west walker groups unless the permission form has been completed and submitted. That requirement will be in effect beginning on day one (August 16) of the 2023-2024 school year.
Be advised that submitting the form on August 16 will likely not allow your child or children to walk on August 16; the first day of school is hectic for everyone, and your submission may not get reviewed and information shared with classrom teachers until after dismissal. So act now if your children will be walking.

And don't forget. . .
. . .all families need to complete and submit the 2023-2024 Activity Fees Form by August 16.
