Dear Parent,
On Wednesday, February 14, we began the Lenten season. All of the students, teachers, and staff had the opportunity to attend Mass on Ash Wednesday and receive ashes. The ceremony of placing ashes on our foreheads is a reminder of our own mortality and the need to turn to God. The season culminates with the celebration of Holy Week. During this special season we are asked to examine our relationship with God and other people, make amends for past wrongs, and plan ways to love and be of service to others.
I would like to thank all of our families for the outstanding support for San Idelfonso School during CSW. The generous donations were absolutely overwhelming. We collected $2,663.13! This collection will fund school supplies for students. Below is what it would cost for various school supplies at San Idelfonso.
$1 Pencil and Notebook
$2 Pencil, notebook, crayons
$5 School book for one subject
$10 Backpack with school supplies for the year
$25 School books for all subjects for the year
$50 Tuition and school fees for 1/3 of year
$100 All school supplies and tuition for 1/2 of year
$150 All school fees and supplies for one year in Guatemala!
The generosity of our students and families for San Idelfonso School was humbling. Thank you! Knowing the simple needs of this school gave us all a time to reflect, pause, and be so thankful for all that we have been given.
On Friday, March 1, the third quarter of school will be completed. The next week will be Spring Break. When we return, we will have approximately 10 weeks of school left before we break for summer. As the weather changes and the days get longer, it is hard to keep focused. I encourage you to continue to expect the very best from your child. They have worked so hard, and we want each child to finish strong. Thank you!
My prayer is that you all experience a holy Lent and grow closer to God through your words and actions.

We would like to invite the students and their families to help follow our school theme “Be More” during this Lenten season. So many times we think about what others need, and often times we forget that there are things we can do that do not cost us any money. This year, every classroom will have 40 Acts of Kindness hanging in their room. Each classroom will decide what act of kindness they are going to do that day. On Friday, students will talk about what they are going to do at home over the weekend to keep their acts of kindness going. Thank you for encouraging and praying for our students during their Lenten season. We want to “Be More” each and every day.
