Dear FGIM Family,
Lorphine and I want to take a few minutes to thank you for your continued support of our ministry during these troubling times in Haiti.
As many of you may already be aware, Haiti is currently facing severe challenges marked by escalating gang violence, political instability, and a deepening humanitarian crisis. Since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, the country's governance has significantly broken down, with no elections held since 2017, resulting in expired terms for all elected officials. Gangs now control vast areas, particularly in Port-au-Prince, attacking prisons and key infrastructure, which has led to a state of emergency and severe disruptions to daily life.
Around 5.5 million people, including 3 million children, are in urgent need of aid. Essential services have collapsed, causing widespread hunger and disease outbreaks. Although efforts to address the crisis include a transitional council and international support, more resources and coordination are crucial to alleviate suffering and restore stability.
Despite the turmoil, we are grateful that Jacmel has been relatively protected from much of this violence. However, people here still suffer from skyrocketing costs of goods, fuel, and lack of opportunities. Thanks to the unwavering support of our generous donors, we can provide food, education, and a safe haven for our girls. Our school continues to educate many children, offering them a semblance of routine in these difficult times, filled with the joyful sounds of play and laughter. The church remains a beacon of hope where people can worship Jesus and grow together as a community.
However, with the rising cost of living, increased need for security, food, and fuel, we need your prayers and support now more than ever. Please consider how you can help and share the positive impact happening at FGIM with others. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Please know that Lorphine and I continue to speak Ephesians 1:16-17 over each and every one of our donors, sponsors, and partners in ministry, "I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him." ESV
Again, Thank you for your continued support and generosity.
Blessings,
Pierre & Lorphine St Louis

After-School Support
Our dedicated supervisors assist the children with their homework after school, ensuring they stay on track with their studies. We are proud to report that almost all the children achieved passing grades, with only two needing additional support.
Weekly Training Sessions
Every Friday, supervisors hold training sessions focusing on faith, social skills, and hygiene. These sessions cover essential topics like hand washing, dental care, regular bathing, and maintaining a clean environment. Emphasizing good nutrition and physical activity, the goal is to instill lifelong habits for health and well-being.
Bible Study with Angelica
Angelica, a missionary in Jacmel, leads engaging Bible study sessions, where children explore stories and teachings from the Bible. These discussions help them understand faith, morality, and spirituality, fostering a nurturing environment for their spiritual growth.
Creative Activities
The girls particpated in bracelet-making activities, allowing the children to express their creativity while developing fine motor skills. This activity promotes teamwork and positive relationships as the children create unique bracelets together.
Gathering with Others
On February 14th, we celebrated a memorable Valentine’s Day picnic with children, young girls, and staff from both Transition House and Faith House. We were delighted to welcome another center to join us for this special day. The director of the center and her husband shared insightful advice on the theme of Love, encouraging the youth to wait until they are ready for romantic relationships. Additionally, the girls from Faith House displayed their God-given talents through song, dance, and poetry, making the day even more special.
Our girls recently had the opportunity to attend an inspiring evangelical concert featuring the talented psalmist and artist, Johnny Laguerre, at Hosanna Church. The event was a resounding success, and the girls thoroughly enjoyed the uplifting music and atmosphere. In addition, several of our girls showcased their talents in the interschool singing competition organized by the Madelaine Morano Institution. We are proud of Daphcarline, Laisselie, and Daniella for representing our school with grace and enthusiasm in this exciting event.
Marie Christelle has been a tremendous help, diligently assisting with cleaning and purchasing groceries for the week’s provisions. Her efforts ensure that our home runs smoothly and that everyone is well taken care of.
Entrepreneurial Experience
In May, the girls from Faith House and Transition participated in a local Haitian market event. They worked together to purchase ingredients, cook, bake, and sell their products at their booth. This experience was a great success, teaching them valuable lessons in entrepreneurship and teamwork.
We are proud of our children's achievements and grateful for the continued support that makes these opportunities possible. Thank you for being part of our community.

Update: Three new girls added to Faith House who need sponsorshipThe Faith House family has expanded with the arrival of three precious new girls over the past few months:
Fanaissa, a spirited 5-year-old, found refuge at Faith House after enduring mistreatment from her father, leaving scars on her innocent face. Since joining us, she has blossomed into a radiant soul, finding solace and love among her Faith House sisters.
Guerlanda, a brave 3-year-old, came to us amidst a tumultuous situation, as her mother struggled with personal challenges. While awaiting a court decision about her future, Guerlanda has found safety and warmth within our walls, embraced by the caring arms of her Faith House family.
Shanaïka, a sweet 5-year-old, arrived at our doorstep under mysterious circumstances. Discovered at a local police station, her origins remain a mystery. Despite the uncertainty, she has found comfort and companionship with us, surrounded by the love of her newfound Faith House sisters.

In March, our church leaders dedicated their efforts to planning Holy Week and relaunching small groups, encouraging everyone to experience God's goodness in their lives. Despite many challenges, we achieved our set objectives.
During Lent, we held a week-long review each evening, focusing on seeking the Lord's presence. The theme, "Jesus descended so that God would raise Him up," from Philippians 2:5-11, inspired us all to embrace humility. This special week saw an average of 114 participants each day, who left feeling blessed and uplifted.
Supporting Our Community in Times of Hardship Despite the hardships in Haiti, our church remains a pillar of support for those in need. We are proud to provide food kits to families, ensuring they have the essentials to get through tough times. Additionally, we offer financial assistance for various needs, including paying for schooling and some medical expenses.
The Church's commitment extends to visiting and transporting individuals to the hospital when they are ill, providing critical healthcare access. We also support local businesses and assist with livestock activities, particularly goat farming, to help community members achieve self-sufficiency. Through these efforts, our church is not just a place of worship but a beacon of hope and support in our community.
Upcoming Events We look forward to sharing news of some upcoming events that will take place through the ministry of the church, including a family conference, women’s conference, VBS evangelization, and Back to School initiatives. Thank you for your continuous support.
Ways to Support Our Church When you click "Give to support the church," your generosity directly fuels our ministry outreach, church events, and programs for children and youth in our community. Additionally, our praise team is in need of new microphones, which cost around $500. Your support can make this possible.
If you feel called to contribute, please give through the link below. Your donation makes a meaningful impact on our church and community. Thank you for your support!

A Journey of Growth and Success
We are thrilled to share the incredible journey of growth and success that Académie Perspective Nouvelle has experienced over the past few years. By the grace of God, our school has flourished, with enrollment soaring from about 100 students in 2020 to 268 students in 2024.
Our academic achievements speak volumes about our commitment to excellence. For the official 9th-grade exams, we have celebrated five graduating classes, with four achieving a 100% pass rate and one an impressive 80% pass rate. In Secondary IV (7th-12th grade), our first graduating class achieved a 60% pass rate, setting a strong foundation for future cohorts.
A New Home and a Bright Future
From September 2014 to June 2020, our school operated in a rented space in Cyvadier. However, in July 2020, we moved to our own premises on FGIM property, a significant milestone made possible through divine provision and donor support. Today, despite the challenging circumstances in Haiti, we are blessed to employ 56 dedicated staff members.
The community recognizes Académie Perspective Nouvelle as a beacon of quality education, and families are increasingly entrusting us with their children's education. We take pride in being a blessing to the Southeast community.
