Adam Henry is an animator, writer and producer with over 20 years of experience working in film and television. Beginning his career at Warner Brothers as an animator on the critically-acclaimed feature film, Iron Giant, Henry went on to serve a variety of roles – including storyboard artist, producer, and showrunner – at Disney (Penn Zero, Tinkerbell Movie), Dreamworks (She Ra, Jurassic Park), Nickelodeon (Kung Fu Panda, The Loud House, Ni Hao Kailan, Random Cartoons, Robot Monster) and Netflix (Dogs in Space).

KU Open Figure Drawing

The Department of Visual Art will continue to offer Open Figure Drawing once a month while classes are in session. Workshops are FREE and open to anyone who wants to draw the figure.
Drawing the human figure in its various shapes and positions is an important activity for all visual artists. Figure drawing, the process of drawing the human body from observation of a live model, is arguably the most difficult subject an artist commonly encounters.
Art Cart: Found in the Clouds

Take inspiration from works of art in the exhibition “My Mother’s Tongue Ties Me Together” and create your own 3D work of art in mixed media.
This drop-in activity station rolls into the galleries each month for children and grown-ups to create hands-on art projects together, taking inspiration from original art on view.

SOM Foundation 2025 Robert L. Wesley Award
The Robert L. Wesley Award supports BIPOC undergraduate students enrolled in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, or engineering programs in the United States. This year, three students will receive a $10,000 award in addition to a yearlong mentorship program that connects the students with leading BIPOC practitioners and educators.

To Hold On or To Let Go, an exhibition by KU Photography student Alice Lubin-Meyer, is a photographic exploration created using black-and-white 4x5 film and a large format view camera. As Grass Grows: Ten Years at Prairieside Outpost is a group exhibition commemorating the first ten years of the Artist-in-Residence program at Prairieside Outpost in Matfield Green, Kansas. The exhibition features 28 visual artists and writers from across North America, including Photography professor Lilly McElroy. Each artist featured has worked on their creative endeavors in the remote and head-clearing expanse that is the Kansas Flint Hills.

📸 Rural Kansas Photography Contest

We are excited to partner with Kansas Country Living magazine for the sixth year in a row. Kansas Country Living is designed to educate Kansas electric cooperative consumer-members on topics that impact rural electrification. With a circulation of more than 133,000, it is an integral communications channel that builds member support for electric cooperatives in Kansas while keeping them informed of the latest news, energy efficiency tips, emerging technology (electric vehicles, smart devices that help save energy) and electrical safety.
The Kansas Country Living editorial team will choose from all of the entries a $100 grand-prize winning photograph that will be featured on the January 2026 cover of the magazine.

KU Natural History Museum Volunteer Creatives
The Communications Coordinator at the KU Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum is looking for 2-3 creative volunteers willing to help expand the museum’s marketing materials and attract more visitors.
Volunteer Expectations:
🔸 Commitment to volunteering at minimum 2-4 hours a week at the KU Natural History Museum
🔸 A laptop is provided but volunteers are welcome to use their personal devices
🔸 All marketing materials created must adhere to the KU brand design guide
🔸 Experience with Adobe software (Adobe Express, Illustrator, etc.) is preferred
