Skokie Farmers’ Market: Local Goods Now Available Year-Round! |
The Skokie Farmers’ Market Winter Market on Main has officially launched and is already a hit. This bi-weekly indoor/outdoor market offers fresh winter produce, eggs, meats, and treats from popular vendors like Tony’s Peanuts and Nena’s Sweet Treats.
Why it matters: The Winter Market serves as a gathering space for the community, filling the gap between the summer market seasons and providing access to local goods and supporting small businesses year-round.
|
What’s next: The Winter Market runs every other Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 4051 Main St., Skokie. Upcoming dates are: January 26, February 9 and 23, March 9 and 23, and April 13 and 27.
In focus: The market and its location was inspired by the Main Street Commercial Corridor Study, which aims to transform Main Street into a vibrant neighborhood hub that supports small businesses and fosters community engagement. Additionally, it marks the first use of the Village’s newly purchased property at 4051 Main St., which will host future events and activities organized by the Fine Arts Commission and Economic Vitality Office.

Firefighters have also completed training on the vehicle’s operation.
Tribute: Firefighter Andrew Cutting was key in the refurbishment of Truck 18 and helped develop specifications for the new Tower Ladder. Cutting, who died in the line-of-duty in 2023, will be honored at a small open house at Station #18 on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 10 a.m., when the new Tower Ladder 18 will be placed in service and Cutting’s legacy will be celebrated.
