Warhawk Bold meets Paralympic Gold |
Six Warhawks earned gold medals for Team USA by winning the men’s wheelchair basketball competition at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Team USA defeated Great Britain 73-69 in Saturday’s final. On the women’s side, former Warhawk Mariska Beijer led Team Netherlands to the gold medal. More than 400 Warhawks named to WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll
|
A total of 416 UW-Whitewater student-athletes representing all 22 of the institution's varsity sport programs were named to the 2023-24 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll.

Kudos to Jenna Cushing-Leubner, associate professor of curriculum and instruction, who has been named an Education Evolving Minnesota Heritage Fellow. She was selected as a heritage language education expert to advise the state of Minnesota's teacher licensing board (PELSB) on the design of a new pathway program to earn a K-12 World Languages teaching license with a focus on heritage language reclamation. Kudos to Professor Alicia de Gregorio, professor of world languages and cultures, who delivered her presentation “La diversidad de Madrid en La horda de Vicente Blasco Ibáñez: paralelos con la pintura realista y naturalista de fines del siglo XIX y principios del XX” at the 11th International Conference of the Asociación de Humanidades Hispánicas, held at Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, Spain, on June 26-29.
