Upcoming Dates

September 12 - No School/Teacher Inservice

September 15 - 7th & 8th Grade Grandparents Day, K-2 Progress Reports Go Home

September 27 - Feast of St. Vincent de Paul

Save the Date: 7th & 8th Grade Grandparents Day Monday, September 15

This is a special day when students can share time together celebrating Mass followed by bingo, donuts, and coffee with grandparents or a special person in their lives.

Guests can arrive beginning at 8:10 A.M. and will meet their students in church. Mass will begin at 8:30 A.M., followed by coffee, donuts, and bingo in Kampschneider Hall. Due to the number of students and space limitations, we ask that each student limit attendance to two grandparents, special friends, or non-school age siblings.

A sign up genius will be out soon with volunteer opportunities, please consider helping us make this event possible by volunteering.

Note that the 5th and 6th grade will celebrate Grandparents Day together in October rather than 6th being combined with 7th/8th. This will allow for a more comfortable environment for all of our guests.

REMINDER

**The church doors will be locked at 8:15 A.M. If you arrive after 8:15, there will be adults present to direct you.**

In the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, we will be collecting food donations for the Divine Mercy Food Pantry right here at SVdP. The school will collect food items from Sept.15th-23rd. We plan to deliver the food to the pantry on Wednesday, September 24th, after our Mass celebration. The items we will be collecting are...

Cereal

Ramen (chicken)

Hearty soups (especially beef type)

Tuna

Canned corn

Graham crackers

Dried beans

Rice or rice dishes

Thank you so much for your generosity in honoring our patron saint, St. Vincent de Paul.

Dennis Uniform Inventory

School Chic Uniforms has obtained the last boxes of uniforms for St. Vincent de Paul School. The owner has generously offered to sell these items to our parents, with all proceeds going back to our school. We truly appreciate this thoughtful gesture.

A Note from your PE Teacher

Marathon Kids

A new program that we have kicked off in grades 2-6 is our Marathon Kids. Hopefully your child has mentioned something about it. Once a week for a warm up, the students run for five minutes. After each completed lap around the volleyball court, the student will scan their card to keep track of laps and distance completed. After the first several weeks we have accumulated over 300 miles! Our school goal by May 8th is go over 7,200 miles. To put things in perspective, 30 laps around the volleyball court is equivalent to one mile. When you get a chance, stop by the gym and head to our Marathon Kids poster and check on your child’s status. Time to run!
