Resources on Global Topics |
The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) offers free, nonpartisan educational resources to help bring complex global topics to life for teachers and students. CFR’s education website offers instructors a wide range of materials, including readings, videos, interactive activities and charts. Free and engaging simulations allow students to step into the roles of decision-makers in U.S. national security and the UN Security Council, gaining valuable insights into real-world diplomacy and global challenges. For more information, visit the CFR Education website.

Planning to use Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor in your courses next semester?
Consider adding a “Try It Quiz” for your students. This simple quiz gives students the chance to make sure they understand how to use it before they take their first graded exam.
If you want to know more about Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor, there is information from ETLC. In addition, contact the helpdesk if you want to be enrolled in a course that allows you to take a quiz using Respondus for yourself.

The 3rd week of the Fall term, the chatbot asked Freshmen and Sophomore students how often they had missed a class this semester. Of the 755 students that responded, roughly 1 in 4 indicated they had missed one or more classes. Students that reported missing one or more classes were twice as likely to withdraw (15% of those students) from any course in the Fall term compared to students that reported not missing a class (6%). It is well established that attendance has a strong relationship with grades. As you prepare for the Spring semester, consider these thought pieces on why students check out and some ways to make the most of class time.
