In response to the incoming inclement weather, Arkansas State University will close all academic and business offices at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan 23.
This early closure is intended to give employees time to prepare for what is forecast to be a potentially historic snowfall. It also allows students the opportunity to travel home before conditions deteriorate and roads become unsafe.
Essential personnel who maintain on-campus activities, including University Housing, Dining Services, Police, and Facilities Management, will continue operations as directed by their leadership. Employees who are uncertain about their status as “essential personnel” are encouraged to check with their supervisor. Full-time employees who track working hours can submit their time as “Authorized Leave.”
Event Updates and Rescheduling
If your department or organization has a scheduled event impacted by the upcoming inclement weather, email calendar@AState.edu to update the centralized campus calendar.
Looking Ahead to Next Week
University officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and will determine whether additional closures are necessary for early next week. We hope to issue open/closure announcements by 1 p.m. each day.
