Dear Eagle Nation:
Students, faculty, staff, and alumni gathered with me in Washington, D.C. at the HQ House by The Burn Brothers for a fireside chat that was truly special. This unique event brought together a diverse group of individuals, all sharing a common interest in promoting inclusivity and diversity in the worlds of film and television.

The highlight of the evening was a captivating conversation with John Gibson, the Vice President of External and Multicultural Affairs at the Motion Picture Association. As attendees settled in, we delved into a thought-provoking discussion about the urgent issue of the underrepresentation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the film and TV industry.
Throughout the exchange, there was a palpable sense of determination to make real, lasting change. People shared valuable insights, challenged each other's perspectives, and forged new alliances, all with the shared goal of becoming catalysts for progress within their own spheres of influence.

Our journey didn't end with the event itself. Our time in Washington, D.C. ignited a spark for ongoing collaboration and advocacy. Armed with fresh knowledge and inspired by our collective vision, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose. Together, we're fueled by the belief that by working collectively, we can unleash the transformative power of representation on screens of all sizes.
Special thank you to VP Joshua Humbert and our Institutional Advancement team for coordinating and developing this event!
