Following our Provost’s recent communication on accessibility, this semester we're enhancing course digital accessibility by focusing on these three key areas:
- accessible syllabi,
-
alternative text for images, and
- descriptive hyperlinks.
These changes will improve the learning experience for all students, especially those using assistive technologies. Detailed instructions on each of the key areas this semester are available on the ETLC Accessibility webpage.

Software On Classroom Computers |
Any software installed on classroom computers must go through an External Tool approval process that includes a cybersecurity and license review by multiple offices at UAH.
A list of software approved to upload on classroom computers is maintained on the ETLC website. To start the process, complete this form and you will be emailed further instructions.
Note: This process will take approximately three to six months to complete depending on vendor responsiveness. Also, very little freeware will meet the criteria needed to be installed.
Software used on a personal device in the classroom does not have to be reviewed.

This semester first generation students (i.e., students whose parents do not have a college degree) made up 22% of the undergraduate population. Historically, first generation students are retained and graduate at lower rates than their peers. Students that are first generation may need assistance decoding college or benefit from principles of universal course design. If you are first generation and want to get involved and support UAH students like you, then email asap@uah.edu.

The following faculty have demonstrated they meet the standards of Course Design Review in these courses.
