Our Annual Flag-Raising Ceremony

Over the summer new windows were installed on the lower level of the school. These upgrades have enhanced classroom comfort, improved security, and ensured a safer environment for every student and staff member. We are truly grateful and want to thank the families that helped fund this project, along with the parishioners who donated to the Saint Vincent Fund and earmarked their donations for this project.

Save the Date: 7th & 8th Grade Grandparents Day Monday, September 15

This is a special day when students can share time together celebrating Mass followed by bingo, donuts, and coffee with grandparents or a special person in their lives.

Guests can arrive beginning at 8:10 A.M. and will meet their students in church. Mass will begin at 8:30 A.M. followed by coffee, donuts, and bingo in Kampschneider Hall. Due to the number of students and space limitations, we ask that each student limit attendance to two grandparents, special friends, or non-school age siblings.

A sign up genius will be out soon with volunteer opportunities, please consider helping us make this event possible by volunteering.

Note that 5th and 6th grade will celebrate grandparents day together in October rather than 6th being combined with 7th/8th allowing for a more comfortable environment for all of our guests.

Girls on the Run Needs Coaches This Fall Grades 3rd - 5th

Girls on the Run is gearing up for another season of friendship and 5K fun at St. Vincent de Paul this fall.

We’re looking for two or three positive-minded people to coach after school for 16 lessons between Sept. 8 and Nov. 5.

You DON’T have to be a runner to get involved—you just need to live a healthy lifestyle, project a positive attitude, and have passion to help young girls put their best foot forward with our transformational social-emotional learning program.

Girls on the Run is an innovative after-school program that combines exercise, education, and mentoring to promote self-esteem, goal-setting, and healthy living in  3rd-5th grade girls. Teams meet for 75 minutes twice a week for two months to play interactive running games and train for a 5K run/walk at the end of the season. Lessons on goal-setting, health, communication, and teamwork are incorporated with the physical training, so girls get a well-rounded, positive experience in a noncompetitive atmosphere.

The overall time commitment for first-time coaches is about 30 hours and requires the following:

Sixteen 75-minute lessons with the team (twice weekly for two months)

Online training modules

Pre-season meeting

GOTR 5K Oct. 26 in Lincoln

CPR/First Aid, if needed (one coach per site must be certified, and we can provide training)

Find out for yourself why Girls on the Run is so much fun!. Visit www.GOTRNebraska.org to learn more about this rewarding (and FUN!) short-term volunteer opportunity.  APPLY TODAY to get the process started.

Our 8th grade volleyball team played 6-0 this weekend in the Roadrunner Preseason Volleyball Tournament, securing us a 1st place finish. The girls didn't give up a single set the entire tournament, which is very hard to do. Congratulations to team members:

Kinley Borer, Ellie Dietz, Kyra Kosak, Annabelle Leighton, Maggie Muhs, Lydia Peters, Lily Stickels, Maila Tran, Valentina Valdivia
