Dear Eagle Nation:
As we prepare for the Thanksgiving Holiday, we have an opportunity to pause and give thanks for all the gifts life has given us, including belonging to the wonderful Coppin State University community. I am thankful to lead such a magnificent institution where we have cultivated a culture of excellence, resilience, and family.
It was wonderful to see the campus community come together this past week for our annual "Friendsgiving" meal. This was an opportunity for colleagues, students, and friends to spend time together, share a meal, and for myself and members of my cabinet to be of service to all of you, as a token of our appreciation.

I am grateful for our students, who are the reason we are here. They infuse this campus, and our professional lives, with inspiration and purpose.  Our outstanding faculty and staff work hard and sacrifice for the success of our institution and our students. They give our students the tools they need to learn about themselves in the classroom and in their daily lives. I am grateful for their commitment and service.

I am forever thankful for the First Lady of Coppin State University, my beautiful wife Toinette, and my daughters, Ashley, and Alicia, who are my life. They are All in for Coppin, not only in supporting me, but giving of themselves and their time to support our university and our students at every turn – from attending sporting events to serving the community on behalf of our great university.

My hope is you will use this time during the Thanksgiving Holiday to enjoy more time with your families and loved ones. When we come back from the holiday, we will be weeks away from the end of the semester. I want to encourage all of us to get much needed rest, and prepare to finish strong in December.
