HomeAid to Participate in NAHB International Builders’ Show 2025 in Las Vegas

Dear HomeAid Supporters,

We are excited to announce that HomeAid will once again be participating in the upcoming NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) 2025, taking place February 24-27 in Las Vegas! As one of the largest gatherings of residential construction professionals in the world, IBS provides an invaluable opportunity for HomeAid to connect with industry leaders, strengthen partnerships, and showcase our mission of building a future without homelessness. HomeAid will be located at Booth C18, just outside of Central Hall.

Connecting with Industry Leaders – IBS brings together home builders, developers, and suppliers from across the country. HomeAid’s presence at the show allows us to engage with key stakeholders, raise awareness about our work, and inspire new partnerships.

HomeAid Affiliates Start the YearOff Strong with Project Dedications

HomeAid Sacramento recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at The Grove. Located in Del Paso Heights, The Grove is a 50-cabin emergency bridge housing community that provides young adults (ages 18-24) experiencing homelessness with safe shelter and essential support.

More than just a place to stay, The Grove offers case management and a Rapid Re-Housing Program to help residents transition into independent living. Thanks to the dedication of our partners, recent enhancements, including newly installed concrete pathways, are improving the overall environment for those who call The Grove home.

HomeAid National Capital Region recently celebrated the completion of a project at Second Story, along with Builder Captain Stanley Martin Homes. Longtime supporters may remember Second Story by its original name – Alternative House – and you might even remember that our very first project in 2001 was for Alternative House, with Stanley Martin as one of the driving forces in getting the project off the ground.

In partnership with Stanley Martin Homes and 16 trade partners, we transformed a three-level townhome owned by Second Story into a welcoming, functional space for young mothers and their children.

Term of the Month: Imminent Risk of Homelessness

Imminent Risk of Homelessness describes individuals and families facing incredibly tough circumstances.

It applies to individuals and families on the brink of being unhoused. They have an annual income below 30 percent of the median income for the area. They don’t have sufficient resources or support networks needed to obtain other permanent housing and will imminently lose their primary night-time residence, provided that:

Residence will be lost within 14 days of the date of application for homeless assistance
No subsequent residence has been identified
The individual or family lacks the resources or support networks needed to obtain other permanent housing.

This means they have nowhere to go, no backup plan, and are facing homelessness right now.

Understanding this term highlights the urgency of the homelessness crisis. These are people in immediate need of support to prevent them from falling into homelessness.

The Prison Angel by Mary Jordan and Kevin Sullivan

The Prison Angel: Mother Antonia’s Journey from Beverly Hills to a Life of Service in a Mexican Jail is a remarkable true story of transformation, compassion, and unwavering dedication to serving society’s most marginalized.
