| UW-Whitewater Enactus chapter earns second straight national title |
Back to back! For the second consecutive year, the UW-Whitewater Enactus chapter captured the national championship at the Enactus United States National Exposition, placing first at the 2026 event over the weekend in Denver, Colorado. The Warhawks will represent the U.S. at the Enactus World Cup this November in São Paulo, Brazil.

UW-Whitewater’s production of “The Liar” by Pierre Corneille, brought to life through Richard Wilbur’s masterful translation and directed by Bruce Cohen, debuts this Friday, April 24, at Hicklin Studio Theatre inside the Greenhill Center of the Arts. A total of 58 UW-Whitewater students will be part of the production.

Sabrina Wolf (pictured), an environmental science major from New Lisbon, and William Nerad, a geography major from Racine, along with their mentor, John Frye, associate professor of geography, geology, and environmental science, presented research projects at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Geographers in San Francisco, California, on March 16-21.

Kudos to Saymin Lee, assistant professor of communication, who gave a research presentation at the International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC) on Thursday, March 5, in Orlando, Florida. The presentation was titled “When active publics talk to publics: An experimental examination of public-to-public communication on emerging technology issues.”

Kudos to John Dominguez, director of educational opportunity program, and Terri Jones, academic program specialist, who were recognized with the All Means All Award by the Whitewater Unified School District for the King/Chávez Scholars Program’s Little Scholars partnership with Lincoln Elementary School on Feb. 23. Through handwritten pen pal letters, engaging academic activities, and connection throughout the year, this partnership has created something special for grade school and college scholars alike. Aropa Designs — a fixture in Whitewater for almost 40 years — annually produces thousands of t-shirts for UW-Whitewater first-year and transfer students to celebrate the fall traditions in becoming a Warhawk. UW-Whitewater named Teaching Fellows & Scholars

Nick Hwang, associate professor of communication, and Elizabeth Novotny, assistant professor of literature, writing, and film, have been selected as 2026-27 Wisconsin Teaching Fellows & Scholars, joining other Universities of Wisconsin faculty across various disciplines in a collaborative group.
