If you are registered to vote in New Haven Unified School District, remember that there is a very important measure on the ballot that will directly benefit our students and schools.
Most classrooms, science labs, and school facilities were built over 50 years ago and need critical ongoing repairs and upgrades. Passing this measure now means that NHUSD will qualify for millions in state matching money that will be distributed to districts that pass local school bonds. Please vote Yes on N.

In 2024, NHSF awarded over $242,000 in college scholarships for graduating seniors. Our 2025 program is ramping up now, so if you plan to offer a new scholarship this is the best time to do it.

Now through December: Sponsors who plan to set up an online fundraiser for 2025 should do so now. Email helen@nhsfoundation.org for help.
- Early December: Fund balances to be sent to past scholarship sponsors.
- January 8, 2025: Senior class parent briefing on Zoom
- January 15, 2025: Scholarship commitments and qualifications due from sponsors.
- February 1, 2025: Student application period opens.
- February 15, 2025: Funding for all scholarships must be turned in to NHSF.
- March 2, 2025: Application period closes. Student applications must be completed by the end of the day.

March 3, 2025: Review period opens. Scholarship sponsors and reviewers will read and score applications.
- April 3, 2025: Review period closes. Decisions to be submitted to NHSF. Students will be notified if they have been awarded a scholarship no later than April 30.

May, 2025: Pathways to Success Scholarship presentation ceremony. Students are expected to attend the event to accept their awards.

| Donate to Honor Delaine Eastin
|
The NHSF Delaine Eastin Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from the Class of 2025 planning to study for a career in government or teaching.
Contributions are now being accepted to honor the legacy of the inspiring and beloved namesake of Eastin Elementary School.

| The New Haven Schools Foundation was recently awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency by Candid (formerly Guidestar.)
Candid is a national database of 1.8M IRS-recognized tax exempt nonprofits that is used by to donors to validate charities and provide program and operational information. The Platinum seal is the highest rank in the system, so NHSF is proud of this designation.

Thank you to PG&E for a generous $5000 grant to NHSF as part of their initiative to support education. The grant will be used to help fund the C-STEM Academy at Hillview Crest Elementary School.
|

| Little Free Library Grant |
Teacher Zoya Zilberman received a grant from NHSF for a Little Free Library at the Decoto School for Independent Study to engage students of all ages and community members to read, share and pass along books with kindness. She and teacher Erin Cross brought together a team of teen volunteers to assemble the book exchange which will inspire readers, and expanding book access. What a great project!
