Language Equity in Academia: Reimagining kNowledge (LEARN) Conference

Please join us in calling out “standard English” as the marker of intelligence and academic success at the fourth (!) annual Language Equity in Academia: Reimagining kNowledge (LEARN) Conference, hosted by Glendale Community College in partnership with Las Positas College and CSU Northridge on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. PST, over Zoom.

This conference is FREE and completely online!  We’re excited for our keynote: Dr. Socorro Herrera, Executive Director, Center for Intercultural Multilingual Advocacy at Kansas State University, who does transformative work on the ideological perceptions of race and language in the context of American education.

Language/linguistic justice and equity (LJE) practitioners will present interactively, and we will hear from students in a panel–all with a focus on various ways to bring LJE to curricula across the disciplines and overall campus culture.

This is a great opportunity for educators from all areas and those invested in campus equity to join us for a transformative conference dedicated to advancing social justice and language equity.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact conference co-coordinators, Kelan Koning kelan.koning@csun.edu and Julie Gamberg  jgamberg@glendale.edu.

June 4, 2025 Systemwide Webinar | Program Pathways Mapper 2.0

Since its launch in 2019, the Program Pathways Mapper (PPM) has helped clarify and streamline students’ journeys to degree completion and transfer. By offering a visually intuitive platform, the PPM equips students with a clear, step-by-step roadmap aligned to their academic and career goals.

Today, over two-thirds of California community colleges, along with dozens of CSU and UC campuses, are live or onboarding with the platform—fostering a growing community of practice across institutions.

This session will offer a first look at “PPM 2.0,” the upcoming upgrade designed to further enhance usability, support institutional collaboration, and strengthen alignment with Vision 2030.

This webinar will highlight:

  • Key enhancements that improve student experience and simplify maintenance of program maps and curricular data.
  • Insights into intersegmental collaboration made possible through PPM’s expanding community of practice.
  • A preview of future features—including AI-driven personalization tools to support student success and institutional effectiveness.

Don't miss this opportunity to explore how PPM is evolving to better serve students and support systemwide transformation.
