Addressing the STI Outbreak Rumors |
The rumors regarding an STI outbreak at GVSU are false. After these posts began gaining traction, the University checked with the teams at the GVSU Campus Health Center and the Ottawa County Health Department to see if there had been any uptick in cases in the region. They were clear: there is no evidence of an STI outbreak of any kind in the GVSU community.
For students who may be concerned about STIs:
In partnership with the Ottawa County Department of Public Health, the university provides free and confidential STI testing on the second Wednesday of each month from 3-7 p.m. during the academic year. FREE Confidential HIV Testing will be offered at the Pew Campus DeVos C Student Study Center on Tuesday, February 10 from noon-3 p.m. Additional information and future dates are available through the Center for Health and Well-being.
