December 2023 Teacher of the Month
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Patrick Runnels, English teacher at Putnam City North High School has been named Teacher of the Month for December 2023. He was named Putnam City District Teacher of the Year in 2023 and OKSTE Teacher of the Year in 2022.
Patrick received his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Oklahoma State and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arizona State.
Patrick has dedicated himself to enhancing the pedagogy of his fellow teachers through training and presentations at the district, state, and national levels, and has worked tirelessly to engage the community, collaborate with business leaders, and enlist the expertise of college professors from 59 different universities in order to provide his students with the necessary skills and knowledge to be competitive after graduation.
For 15 years, Patrick has pursued a passion for teaching guided by the belief that the best way to invest in the community is by investing in its students and future leaders. He wholeheartedly embraces the belief that personal growth emerges from conquering challenges. Moreover, he treasures his blessing, acknowledging their purpose in being shared generously with others.
Patrick Runnels was presented with a certificate of recognition as well as a $500 gift from the Rotary Club 29 Foundation AND a $500 gift from the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation in partnership with the American Fidelity Foundation.
