In collaboration with CONO, a city-adjacent nonprofit organization that works to connect and activate community, CC is co-hosting a city-wide “State of the Neighborhoods” community conference this fall (September 21 from 9 a.m. -4 p.m.). The event commemorates CC’s Sesquicentennial year by honoring our shared history and future with the city of Colorado Springs through strengthening campus/community ties and encouraging local community engagement.
In addition to bringing together local neighborhood leaders and the CC community, the goal of the conference is to inform, activate, and connect participants through conversations around civic participation, community advocacy, and campaign tactics. In doing so, we hope to build skills and capacity for resident-led change, and cultivate diverse leadership throughout the city.
Faculty and staff are invited to propose conference sessions here until July 1. All CC stakeholders are also invited attend to network with community leaders, learn about and problem-solve pressing community problems, and discover community initiatives in which to engage.
Best,
