| Love In Action: Partner Sundays |
Thank you to everyone who has joined us over the past two Sundays for Love in Action: Partner Sundays, hosted by the Mission & Outreach Committee. We’re especially grateful to those who took time to complete the reflection cards and share what caught your attention, where you saw God at work, and what you’re curious about now.
We’re reading through all of the reflection cards and will be following up with those of you who asked about volunteer opportunities, wanted to learn more, or were curious about next steps and left your contact information on the back of your card. We’ll share more about the partners that caught your attention, along with practical ways you can learn more, connect, and take part.
This Sunday, September 27, is our final Partner Sunday. We’ll hear from Siloam Health, Village at Glencliff, and Young Life during Formation Hour from 10:00–11:00 AM in Wallace Hall.
Whether you’ve joined us each week or this will be your first Sunday with us, you are very welcome.
And if something you’ve heard over these past few weeks has stayed with you, keep paying attention to that nudge. Sometimes Love in Action begins simply with noticing where we feel pulled. We are so grateful to everyone who has joined us for “Sacred Conversations” over the past two weeks. Our groups have been full of connectedness, vulnerability, courage and depth as we have heard each others’ stories of Orientation and Disorientation. Know that you are invited to join us as we discuss Reorientation this week, whether you have been participating thus far or whether it’s your first time. We will also be gathering email addresses of those who would like to continue this kind of conversation. Have A Question for Our Bishop Nominees? |
The three sessions will be recorded and made available on this website. The questions for these sessions will be compiled and asked by the members of the Standing Committee. There will be no open questions from the floor.
The Standing Committee requests that you submit the questions that you feel are most important for our episcopal nominees. We want to be sure that the questions asked of the nominees in the Meet & Greet sessions reflect the concerns of the members of the Diocese. We will be receiving questions from September 28 through October 5. All questions will be taken seriously even though the Standing Committee cannot promise that all questions will be asked in the limited time available.
To submit a question: Write out your question—in 25 words or less—and send it to: standingcommittee@edtn.org. Please include your name and your parish. Unsigned questions will not be considered.

St. B's is hosting a postcard-writing party this Sunday, the 27th targeting swing voters in key races for the upcoming midterm elections. Our postcards come from Signs of Justice and will include a list of voters in swing states that we will personally write, encouraging them to get out and make their voices heard.

| Make Sure Your Voice Is Heard
Voting is one of the ways we participate in the life of our community. If you’ve recently moved to a new county, recently turned 18, or will turn 18 by November 3, take a few minutes to make sure your voter registration is up to date.
The registration deadline is October 5. Use the QR code in the graphic or visit GoVoteTN.gov to register or check your voter registration.
It only takes a few minutes today to make sure you’re ready when it’s time to vote.

Since 1958, the Episcopal Church has opposed the death penalty as we acknowledge that all life is sacred. Christina Pike is scheduled to be executed on Wednesday, September 30th. If this sentence is carried out, she will be the first woman executed in Tennessee in over 200 years. While her guilt is not in question; her execution is contrary to the beliefs of the Church. If her execution is not stayed, you are invited to pray with us at 6:00 pm on September 30th, (weather permitting) in front of the bell where we will hold vigil.
