The Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering wishes all students a wonderful, restful and productive summer. Please keep in mind that while Academic Advisors will be accessible throughout the summer to assist you, vacation schedules may impact office hours and availability. Please be sure to plan ahead with all time sensitive requests.
As you hear back from scholarships, fellowships and other accomplishments, please share your achievements here. Additional opportunities will be shared on Canvas throughout the summer.
Information about the revitalized Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering FE Exam Canvas shells will be shared in the coming weeks. However, students who are preparing for the FE Exam this summer are encouraged to review the resources now. First year students will receive access in the coming weeks.

Scholarship Opportunities |
|
|
The Jersey Shore Partnership Foundation is pleased to announce the Tom Galgiano Scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year. It will be given to an undergraduate engineering student enrolled at Stevens.
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must also meet the following requirements:
- Be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a major course of study related to coastal resilience.
- Be a junior or senior in good academic standing (minimum grade point average of 3.5).
- Be a resident of New Jersey Pursuing a major in engineering.
To apply, please complete the application here and include:
- 200 word for more essay which tells us how you are involved to ensure the future sustainability of New Jersey's Coastal and bay areas
- Current resume

Women's Transportation Seminar Scholarship |
The WTS Greater New York Chapter is offering 2025 scholarships to support women and underrepresented individuals pursuing education and careers in transportation-related fields, with opportunities available at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Priority is given to women-identifying applicants, though all genders are welcome to apply. Applications are due by June 13, 2025. Additional information is available here.

Ocean County Professional Engineers Scholarship |
The Ocean County Society of Professional Engineers is offering a $1,000 scholarship to junior and senior engineering majors, within any discipline. Applications are due by May 17, 2025. Additional information is available here. Applicants do not need to live in Ocean County.

Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Scholarships |

Madeleina Gorri (Environmental Engineering) and Faith Macchione (Civil Engineering) were each awarded the CHESS Scholarship through The College of New Jersey.
Faith Macchione was awarded an ASCE New Jersey Scholarship, Concrete Industry Foundation Scholarship, and Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Metro NYNJ Chapter 2025 Student Scholarship.

Civil Engineering major Emily Leiby was recognized as the MAC Freedom Attacker of the Year and First Team All Conference for her play on the Women's Lacrosse Team.
