The University of Texas at Arlington conferred more than 5,800 degrees during its spring 2025 commencement ceremonies May 9 inside Globe Life Field.

“As UTA celebrates its 130th anniversary, our newest graduates are joining the generations of the more than 280,000 Mavericks who came before us—trailblazers who pushed boundaries and left their mark on the world,” UTA President Jennifer Cowley says. “Our students have gained the knowledge, skills, and experience not only to succeed but to lead. They’re going to make a marked impact across our region and state.”

Among those receiving their degrees were a 60-year-old Navy veteran who overcame colon cancer and homelessness, the University's first Tu Futuro scholar, an engineering graduate who will continue his research in composites as a PhD student at UTA this fall, and more.

This fall, the College of Business will offer UTA’s first degrees in hospitality management to help meet the region’s growing workforce needs. In support, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Loews Hotels & Co have established a new scholarship to provide financial assistance for those majoring in the field.
