Vote on City Charter amendments

Family time at Downtown Rockwood, an urban renewal redevelopment.
|
This November, Gresham voters can make their city government more efficient and responsive.
Modernizing urban renewal guidelines
Measure 26-256 is needed to make Gresham more responsive to community problems and needs, from public safety to job creation to infrastructure. And to align the City Charter with state laws for managing urban renewal districts. Measure 26-256 does not raise taxes or authorize the creation of a new tax. Learn more about this ballot measure.
Changing the voting threshold for Charter changes
Currently, changing the City Charter requires 60% of voters to say “yes.” Measure 26-255 would lower that requirement to a simple majority, meaning more than half of the votes cast. This is consistent with the Oregon Constitution and other Oregon cities. Learn more about this ballot measure.
