Dear Students, Staff, and Faculty,
|
Today I am pleased to share the news that Khaleel Gathers will join Colorado College as vice president and chief information officer starting May 16.
|
|
|
Khaleel is currently associate vice president and chief information officer for information technology services at SUNY Buffalo State University. He will bring more than 30 years in the technology sector and 25 years of higher education experience to our ITS division. Khaleel is known for working across the campus to identify technology opportunities, efficiencies, and enhancements, and for his leadership in guiding strategic vision.
Search Chair and Vice President for Enrollment Mark Hatch shares, “Khaleel is a skilled ITS professional, team player, and visionary leader, and he brings wisdom, passion, and a commitment to excellence. He impressed the committee with his experience, his insights, and his passion for the work that we do to support faculty, staff, and students alike.”

Khaleel also expressed his enthusiasm about joining Colorado College.
"I am honored and excited to join the Colorado College community and work with the talented team of IT professionals to advance the college's efforts in digital transformation," he says. "I look forward to collaborating with the college's leadership team, faculty, and staff to provide innovative technology solutions that support student success and the college's academic mission."
Khaleel earned his B.S. in management information systems and his M.S. in higher education administration from SUNY Buffalo State University.
Thanks to Mark, the search committee, and search firm WittKiefer for their thoughtful and careful work in finding our new vice president/CIO. I am grateful for the leadership of Katharina Groves and Tulio Wolford, who have provided valuable contributions to the cabinet and steady guidance to their team since the loss of our friend, Vice President and CIO Brian Young, who passed away in 2021.
Watch for opportunities to meet Khaleel and welcome him after his arrival in May.
Sincerely,
|
L. Song Richardson
President
