2024 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) New Jersey Section Scholarships |
Every year the ASCE New Jersey Section awards scholarships to student members of ASCE who attend school or legally reside in the State of New Jersey. The scholarships are here and the deadline is March 31, 2024.

Concrete Industry Foundation Scholarship |
The Concrete Industry Foundation (CIF) is requesting the CEOE Department to nominate one student to receive a $4,000 scholarship to assist him or her in furthering their studies in the 2024-2023 school year. Key requirements are listed here.
If you are interested in being nominated, please send your resume and a half a page essay that describes your personal and career objectives (particularly those related to the architectural, engineering or construction industry) to Professor Sarath Jagupilla (sjagupil@stevens.edu) and Liz O’Connell (eoconne2@stevens.edu) by 4pm on Friday, February 16th.
The selected nominee will then complete a page essay and submit an additional application.

New Jersey Water Environment Association (NJWEA) Scholarship Program |
The New Jersey Water Environment Association (NJWEA) is pleased to offer its Scholarship Awards Program, named in honor of Dr. Raymond M. Manganelli, former Professor of Environmental Science at Rutgers University, and former Chair of the Association’s Student Programs and Scholarship Awards Committees. NJWEA scholarship awards are available each year, with over 28 awards totaling an annual value of $71,500. These awards are intended for both graduate and undergraduate students interested in the water-related topics. More information is available here. The application deadline is March 15.

2024 Kirk Scholarship Program |
The Asphalt Institute Foundation is pleased to announce the Bill and Shireen Kirk Scholarship for 2024. More than $80,000 in scholarship funds has been awarded to students from across the United States since 2020. This is open to all third and fourth year undergraduates, masters and doctoral students. The New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers is currently accepting applications for the 2024 Engineering Student Scholarships. NJSPE has implemented new scholarships to assist the brightest and most talented future engineers. This scholarship is open to incoming junior and senior undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time. More information is here. The deadline is April 12, 2024 by 5pm.

American Council for Engineering Companies (ACEC) Scholarships |
The ACEC Research Institute will award general scholarships, specialty scholarships based on programs, as well as diversity & inclusion scholarships in the fall of 2024. Students can view the scholarship portal here. Application deadlines vary.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) |
HSF Scholars have access to a full range of invaluable Scholar Support Services, including career services, mentorship, leadership development, knowledge building, and wellness training. The scholarship is open until February 15. Additional information is here.

Dam Safety Scholarship Program |
At least one scholarship will be awarded, with up to $20,000 in scholarship funds available. A travel stipend to the ASDSO Annual Conference may also be awarded in addition to the scholarship funds. Successful applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents enrolled full-time at the senior level during the 2024/2025 school year. Students must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnical disciplines, or another discipline related to dam design, construction, and operation. Undergraduate students planning to graduate in May/December 2025 will be eligible for the 2024 scholarship. The deadline is March 25. Additional information is available here.

Thornton Tomasetti Foundation Scholarship |
The Thornton Tomasetti Foundation's (TTF) scholarship award is based upon a candidate’s career goals, academic accomplishment and demonstrated interest in the integration of engineering and architecture and technology.
The applicant must be a senior level student entering or matriculated in a program that results in a master’s degree specializing in structural engineering or architectural engineering (with courses in structural engineering). Candidates must intend to enter the professional practice of structural engineering or architectural engineering in the building field upon completion of their degree requirements.
The department is able to nominate one student. If you are interested in being nominated, please submit your resume, an essay detailing why you think structural engineering is important (see the application for additional details) and your future plans of studies to Prof. Jagupilla (sjagupil@stevens.edu) and Liz O'Connell (eoconne2@stevens.edu) by February 19. New York Department of Transportation (NYDOT) Information Session and Interview
|
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYDOT) will be on campus Wednesday, February 28th at 3pm to discuss their Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) internship program. This internship is a great opportunity for students in all levels of education, including students completing their first year. More information about the internship is available here.
They will have an information session in Davidson Lab 238 (the classroom next to the Student Success Center), followed by interviews.The information session and question and answer period will be from 3-4pm and interviews will be approximately 10-15 minutes each.

This event is co-hosted by the Stevens chapters of ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers), SEEPS (Stevens Environmental Engineering Professional Society), SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers) and Chi Epsilon (the Civil Engineering Honors Society).
