Dogmatics in Outline
9:30 a.m. • Overlook Room

The Thursday Morning Theology Group is starting a new book on March 27th. We will be reading through Karl Barth’s Dogmatics in Outline. Karl Barth was a Swiss Reformed theologian and one of the most influential theologians of the 20th century. This will be a great class for folks interested in learning more about Christian theology and the Reformed tradition in particular.
All are welcome!
Contact Will Wellman if you have any questions.

Do you want to build a garden?
Westminster is partnering with our neighbor Hillwood Presbyterian to start a community garden! We are in the initial phases and looking for volunteers who would like to be a part of dreaming, planning, and creating this garden on Hillwood’s property. We plan to meet with folks from Hillwood in late April or early May to begin the process! If you’re interested in helping out, please email Will Wellman, wwellman@nashvillewpc.org.

12:00 p.m. Program
Goodpasture Hall

This month, our group is scheduled to meet at the beginning of Holy Week. Instead of a formal program, we will have a short devotional after gathering. Our programs sometimes cut short our opportunities to mingle, so this month we will extend our fellowship time.  We invite you to bring your lunch, catch up with old friends, and get to know new ones.  “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42 NIV)

The Warmth of Other Suns
by Isabel Wilkerson
Presented by Ken Hande
The United States is a country where migration is commonplace.  "The Warmth of Other Suns" is the story of the largest migration in the history of the USA.  This book won the Pulitzer Prize and, in 2025, was named the second most influential book of the 21st century.
Over six million African Americans moved from the South to the North from 1915-1970.  We will discuss why they moved, where they moved, and how they were received.  We may also discuss other population migrations and how they compare with the Great Migration.  We can consider what migrations have in common and how migrants are received in the places to which they migrate.
Hopefully, you will enjoy reading this classic book. However, if you have not read it, I will try to hit the highlights for you and help you to think about migration issues.
Buy a copy of the book here.
