Call for Invited Session Proposals
Please Submit by 20 June 2023
The International Program Committee (IPC) of the International Biometric Society’s (IBS) 32nd International Biometric Conference (IBC2024) calls for invited session proposals. IBC2024 is scheduled to be held as an in-person even on 1 - 6 December 2024 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
An IBC invited session brings together a small number of speakers (two–four) on a particular statistical topic. A discussant may also form part of a session. A discussant should describe the latest research in the session topic and make it accessible to a ‘non-expert’ audience, as well as provide commentary on the various talks during the 90-minute session.
We encourage the submission of proposals covering a wide range of topics in the theory and application of statistics to biological and life sciences. We look more favorably at sessions with a diversity of speakers with respect to gender, geographic region, and seniority. Session organizers may also be a speaker or discussant.
Please Note: Invited session proposals must be submitted through our online abstract submission site: https://ibc2024.abstractcentral.com/login, or use the button below.
All IBC2022 invited session proposals should include: All IBC2022 invited session proposals should include:
- Session Title – 125 Characters Maximum
- Motivation for Proposed Session – 2,500 Characters Maximum
- Relevance of Topic – 500 Characters Maximum
- Keywords / Categories – A list is provided
- All affiliation & contact information for proposed invited speakers and discussant
- Tentative titles for all talks of invited speakers
- Agreement to present In Person at IBC2024 if accepted
Proposals will be evaluated by the International Program Committee (IPC), and the authors will be informed by September 2023 of acceptance, rejection or need for revision (of topic and speakers). We will make final decisions about the IBC2024 Program in May 2024. Please note that there is a limited number of invited session slots. Note also that the IBC is unable to provide funding to cover travel expenses or registration fees for speakers participating in invited sessions.
Thank you for your support of the IBC! We look forward to seeing you in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
