As we close out the year, I want to express my sincere gratitude to our 300+ industry partners, students, alumni, and executive advisory board members who joined us for Innovation Day and celebrated 40 years of computing at Grand Valley. It was truly inspiring to see the energy and collaboration in the room as we highlighted student projects, explored industry trends through our panels, and connected with one another to build a stronger future for computing. Moments like these remind us of the power of partnership and collective innovation as we work together to build a stronger, more dynamic future for computing.

This April, I am proud to announce that we are graduating the largest class in computing history at GVSU. These talented students are prepared to take on the challenges of tomorrow, and events like Innovation Day are a testament to what we can achieve together—bridging the gap between academia and industry to create meaningful opportunities for both our students and partners.
We are also making great progress in our strategic planning. This process is driven by a shared vision to innovate, adapt, and elevate our programs to meet the rapidly evolving demands of the tech industry. Through spirited discussions and creative brainstorming, the team is identifying key priorities, from enhancing student success to forging deeper industry partnerships and expanding cutting-edge research initiatives. Together, we’re charting a bold course to empower our students, strengthen our community, and lead the way in computing excellence.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we will continue to advance innovation and computing excellence, because Computing Lakers always reach higher!
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and a bright new year!
