While the CC North Boys Enrichment Program is aimed at mentoring boys from North Middle School, located just east of campus, it has done so much more than that. From providing solid mentorship to building lasting relationships, the club has benefitted both the CC and North Middle School students.
“Our collaboration with North Middle School is incredible,” says Ben Curry ’25, an Environmental Studies major and co-chair of the club. “Ms. Rockie and Mr. Lohman are the leaders of the club at North, and help with recruitment, attendance, and motivation for the students in the club. We currently have 19 boys from North signed up for the club, and over 20 CC students participating. The boys commit to being in the club for the academic year and foster a consistent relationship with their assigned CC mentors. Each meeting begins by picking up the students from North, and walking them to the CC campus. Here, we have a different fun activity planned for each session.”

CC Students Arrive in Azerbaijan for COP29 |
By Julia Fennel ’21
Eight students recently arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, where they are attending the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29). CC’s delegation is led by Dr. Sarah Hautzinger, Professor of Anthropology, and Myra Jackson, Mindfulness Fellow for Creativity and Innovation.
“It’s a particularly challenging time to represent the United States of America in climate work, in view of the re-election of the previous president who temporarily removed us from the Paris Agreement,” Hautzinger says. “We are reviving the United States’ slogan from those years, — ‘WE ARE STILL IN’ — and believe it’s even more important to show up as members from American higher education committed to climate action.”

Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl," and "Part of Your World." The first performance is Thursday, Nov. 21 and the show runs through Sunday, Dec.29. Tickets start at $27, and CC students get free tickets the day of the performance!
