Tee-Shirt: Valory Dir./Northeast Promotion Don Gosselin is retiring, effective at the end of the year, after what he tells Country Aircheck were "two marvelous careers" in radio, and then records. Gosselin joined Valory from the
iHeartMedia KAJA & KRPT/San Antonio PD chair in 2016 (CAT 9/29/16). His more than 30-year radio career also included three years at WNOE/New Orleans and prior stops in Springfield, MA; Detroit; Toledo; Providence; Philadelphia; and Baton Rouge, LA. Cumulus KRST/Albuquerque midday host Eddie Haskell is back as APD/afternoon host. He succeeds Cody Clark, who departed in August (CAT 8/15). It's Haskell's third stint at the station, where he originally spent nine years as PD, returning three years ago (CAT 9/12/22) after a job as MaxMedia WGH/Norfolk Brand Mgr./afternoon personality. Show Your (Grass)Roots: In other CRS-related news, the application window is open through Dec. 5 for GrassRoots Promotion's annual Steve Ferguson CRS Scholarship, which will provide a Country radio programmer with paid registration for CRS 2026. Applying programmers must have either never attended CRS or not have attended in the past five years, and must "exhibit a love of the Country format and a philanthropic spirit." In The Write Hands: The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) has elected Board member Parker Welling as the Industry Liaison on the executive committee, and songwriter Ben Williams will fill her seat on the Board. Additionally, Drew Baldridge has joined the 27-member Board as an Artist-Writer Representative, and current members Rhett Akins and Roger Brown were reappointed to their positions as Artist-Writer Representative and Legislative Chair, respectively.

Bits & Pieces: Zac Brown will join NBC's The Voice this season as a "mega mentor," as will Joe Walsh. Brown, who makes his first appearance on the show Oct. 27, will coach teams for Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg during the "knockout" rounds, while Walsh will work with Niall Horan and Reba McEntire. |
