Record Crowd at 2025 Women in Banking Conference
|
Nearly 160 members gathered Aug. 14-15 at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton for the 12th-annual Women in Banking Conference. Since its start in 2014, the conference has been a cornerstone of leadership development, peer connection and professional growth for women across Georgia’s banking industry.
This year’s agenda was well-rounded and impactful. Melissa Sneed, deputy commissioner for supervision at the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance, and GBA’s Elizabeth Chandler opened the program with an informal chat on the state of Georgia banking. A panel on managing change followed, with insights from Mikelle Brady of Profit Resources, Susan Moss of Planters & Citizens Bank, Merri Ellen Wadsworth of Ameris Bank and Amanda Marunich of Pinnacle Bank. Attendees also participated in roundtable discussions, heard a panel on health and wellness, enjoyed a chair yoga session and gained important updates on fraud and financial crimes from Dana White of AB&T, Greta Wood of United Bank and Tami Walden of First American Bank & Trust Company. The conference closed with an inspiring keynote from Dima Ghawi, executive coach and author of Breaking Vases.
Attendees also enjoyed networking at an opening reception and wine tasting and learned about this year’s featured charity beneficiary, Rainbow Village.
Special thanks to Gayle Woolard of AB&T, chair of the GBA Women in Banking Committee, for her leadership in planning this year's program. We are also grateful to our sponsors for their support:

Compliance Alliance Question of the Week
|
| |
|
Question: What are the record retention requirements for emails between employees and customers? And are we required to keep physical copies of the emails, or can we keep them solely in an electronic format?
Answer: Email retention isn’t really “one-size-fits-all” - or, said differently - there’s no universal timeline that fits every message in your inbox. Instead, retention tends to depend on the actual content of the specific message. Click here to read more.
