Making Home Ownership Possible
Duke University and community partners recently celebrated the dedication of a Centennial Habitat for Humanity home in Durham’s historic Hayti District, symbolizing both affordable housing progress and community resilience. The event, along with a groundbreaking for three more homes on Grant Street, reflects decades of Duke’s investment in housing initiatives through partnerships with local organizations, credit unions and city and county leaders. Major projects like Willard Street and Ashton Place have expanded affordable rental options, including senior housing, in downtown Durham.
