Elections Updates
The final U.S. House and Senate votes are still being tallied, with 25 races in the House and two races in the Senate yet to be called. As it stands, the House has 211 Republican seats and 199 Democrat seats. In the Senate, 53 seats are Republican and 45 seats are Democrat. The Associated Press made the call for the race Thursday afternoon for NC-01 where incumbent Representative Don Davis won his reelection. The House and Senate Republicans and House Democracts are expected to take up votes for their senior leadership upon its return, but there is no timeline for Senate Democrats at this time. The Office of Government Relations will continue to monitor the results of the new Congress and what comes next.
